Cookie Management Policy

Version 2.0 – Last updated:

This Cookie Management Policy (hereinafter referred to as the "Cookie Policy") aims to inform users of the website www.eureka-fripe.com (hereinafter referred to as the “Site”) about how Les Chiffonniers d’Eureka Fripe, a simplified joint-stock company (SAS) with share capital of €1,000,000, registered office: 159 route de Paris – 76920 Amfreville-la-Mi-Voie, uses cookies and other tracking technologies during browsing.

This Policy complements the Site’s Privacy Policy and General Terms of Use.

1. What is a Cookie?

A cookie is a small text file placed on the user’s device (computer, tablet, smartphone) when visiting a website.

It stores certain information relating to the user’s browsing activity or preferences.

Some cookies are essential for the proper functioning of the site (“necessary” cookies), while others are used to measure website traffic or improve the browsing experience.

2. Applicable legal framework

This Policy complies with:

  • Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of 27 April 2016 (General Data Protection Regulation – GDPR);
  • the French Data Protection Act of 6 January 1978 as amended;
  • the European ePrivacy Directive.

Local rules may apply in certain countries of access (e.g., the United Kingdom, Germany, etc.). These are specified in Article 10 “Territorial Scope and Local Specificities.”

3. Cookies used on this Site

The Website uses essential technical cookies required for its operation, internal audience measurement cookies (Matomo, self-hosted in France), and, subject to your consent, Google Ads marketing cookies.
These marketing cookies are used to measure the performance of our advertising campaigns and to optimise our media investments.

All Google Ads cookies are managed through Borlabs Cookie and are only activated after the explicit acceptance of the “Marketing” category.

No advertising or marketing cookies are placed without your prior consent.

The Website uses three categories of cookies to improve your experience and to measure its performance:

  • Necessary cookies – Essential for the website to function properly (e.g. language selection, consent management).
  • Statistics / Analytics cookies – Allow us to measure website traffic anonymously (see details below).
  • Marketing cookies – Used to measure the effectiveness of our Google Ads campaigns and, if you consent, to display more relevant advertisements.

They are only placed after the user’s explicit consent. 90 days Marketing / Advertising (Requires consent)

All cookies are set by the www.eureka-fripe.com domain. No third-party cookies are used.

4. Consent management

When visiting the website for the first time, an information banner managed by Borlabs Cookie allows the user to review this Cookie Policy and set their preferences.

Statistics cookies (exempt from consent):
The Matomo audience measurement cookies are configured to be strictly anonymised and are hosted in France.
Within the United Kingdom and the EEA, when strict anonymisation standards are applied, these cookies may be exempt from consent requirements.

Marketing cookies (require consent):
The use of marketing cookies, particularly for the Google Ads service, is subject to your explicit and prior consent.
If the user accepts this category via the Borlabs Cookie banner, Google will place cookies to measure the performance of advertising campaigns and improve the relevance of ads.

When the user accepts the “Marketing” category in the Borlabs Cookie banner, the global Google Ads tag (gtag.js) is activated.

The website uses the Google Consent Mode (advanced), fully managed by Borlabs Cookie.
This means that no cookies or signals are sent to Google before the user has made an explicit choice through the banner.

If the user accepts the Marketing category, the global tag is activated and conversions are fully measured (with cookies).

If the user refuses, no personal cookie is set. However, anonymous “pings” may still be sent to Google to measure the overall performance of advertising campaigns.

This process, known as “conversion modelling”, allows conversions to be measured in an aggregated, non-identifiable manner.
It ensures a balance between advertising performance measurement and compliance with UK GDPR and ICO recommendations, in accordance with the Google Consent Mode v2 (advanced) framework.

The table below provides a transparent summary of how the Google Consent Mode operates on our website.

Operation of Google Consent Mode v2 (Advanced version)
Element Status
Mode used Consent Mode v2 (Advanced)
Ping before choice No
Ping after refusal Yes (anonymised, no cookies)
Ping after acceptance Yes (full conversion tracking with cookies)

This information is provided for transparency purposes to help users understand how the measurement system used on this website operates.

In certain countries (notably the United Kingdom and Germany), prior consent may still be required.
In such jurisdictions, our banner prevents any non-essential cookies from being set before your choice.

If third-party cookies requiring prior consent are added in the future, the Borlabs Cookie banner and this Cookie Management Policy will be updated to allow users to accept or refuse them individually, in full transparency.

Users can modify or withdraw their consent at any time by clicking on the dedicated cookie management icon, which is permanently displayed in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

This icon opens the Borlabs Cookie Console, allowing users to review their consent preferences and manage the different cookie categories used on the website.

Borlabs Cookie stores consent preferences locally within the user’s browser and does not transmit any personal data to third parties.

5. Browser settings

Users can configure their browser to accept, refuse, or delete all or part of cookies. The following links explain how to adjust settings:

6. Retention of preferences

User choices (consent or refusal) are stored for a maximum period of 2 months, corresponding to the validity of the borlabs-cookie.

After this period, a new consent banner will be displayed.

7. Right of withdrawal and complaints

Users may withdraw or modify their cookie consent at any time via the Borlabs Cookie console, accessible permanently through the icon located at the bottom left of the screen, as described in Article 4 of this Policy.

For any question or complaint relating to cookie management, Users may contact the Data Protection Officer (DPO) at the following address: contact@eureka-fripe.com.

In case of a persistent disagreement, Users have the right to lodge a complaint with the French Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL).

8. Security and confidentiality of collected data

The information collected via audience measurement cookies is completely anonymous.

No full IP address or personal data is retained.

The data are hosted in France by our IT service provider and are not subject to any transfer outside the European Economic Area.

9. Updating this Policy

This Cookie Management Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect:

  • changes in applicable laws and regulations;
  • new recommendations from the CNIL, the ICO, or other data protection authorities;
  • technical updates to our measurement and consent management tools.

Any substantial modification will be clearly indicated on this website (e.g. update date shown in the footer).
We encourage users to review this page regularly to stay informed of any future changes.

10. Territorial scope and local specificities

  • European Union / EEA: we apply the ePrivacy framework and the GDPR. No non-essential cookies are set without prior consent. When analytics tools are configured to be strictly anonymous, a consent exemption may apply depending on local authorities.
  • United Kingdom: under UK GDPR / PECR rules, consent is generally required for analytics cookies. Our banner blocks these cookies until a choice is made.
  • Germany: under the TTDSG, prior consent is required for non-essential trackers; our banner prevents any placement before your choice.
  • United States: we do not “sell” or “share” your information for cross-context advertising purposes. If this were to change, a “Do Not Sell or Share” link and recognised opt-out signals would be implemented.
  • Other countries (e.g. India, Australia): where local laws require prior consent for non-essential trackers or specific information, our banner and this Policy are adapted accordingly.
